Eva, Founder and CEO of Open Ride, recently opened another Open Ride studio in Basel
Q: What do you do?
I am the founder and CEO of indoor Open Ride, an indoor cycling studio located in Zurich and Basel. We offer multisensory ride experience in a nightclub setting.
Q: What did you want to be growing up?
A Magician. I was always into magic tricks and even saw David Copperfield live when he came to Basel, my hometown.
Q: How did you get where you are now?
After many years of having worked as a TV and radio host, I was longing for my own passion, my own content. I discovered indoor cycling, spinning in a dark room, back in 2018. I was instantly hooked and know that this would be my own passion.
Q: What has been a dream project for you?
I always had entrepreneurial energy, trying to push things forward, trying to create. Little did I know that I would own a company one day – Open Ride is my dream come true. This project will keep me busy for many many years for sure!
Q: What messages that are present in your work resonate the most with viewers?
I think our Open Ride community really appreciates not only the ride experience we offer, but also the fact that they can come to the studio and feel home. Our team is very attentive and caring – and always open for a nice chat. The vibe we have created here is warm and welcoming.
Q: Do you work alone? Do you have founding partners? What is the story of your company?
I have founded the company back in 2018 together with Flurin Müller, who is still part of Open Ride. Along with our amazing team, we are driving the brand and making sure that more and more people are discovering the future of fitness. Currently, we are 24 employees, most of them part-time. It really feels like a big and caring family.
Q: What kind of tips could you give to entrepreneurs that are still in the beginning of their career?
Listen to your instincts and never listen too much to other peoples advise. Even if they mean well: it`s your vision, your business. And only you have to carry the load and living with the consequences. Its nice to have a mentor, though! Someone you can trust in and who has lived through all the phases of entrepreneurship.
Q: We had the honor to produce towels for you, how did the collaboration with Sula happen?
Open Ride is always looking to collaborate not only with international but also national brands, it was very clear to me to work with Sula on our new sweat towels! The quality is amazing and I just love the overall creative output of the brand.
Q: What is success for you?
To create something that moves and has an impact on other people. And to have the freedom to structure your work based on your own rhythm.
